Anybody deal with them? Good, bad? Are the animals healthy? Mites?

The only thing I am concerned about are mites. It took me 5 months of fighting those little bastards to finally get rid of them so I am trying to be EXTREMELY picky about where I get my snakes from.

if ur extremely picky about getting a good boa I wouldn't buy from LLL considering the recent things I've heard about them XD what kind of boa are u looking for? u check around on kingsnake? There are alot of good breeders on there

I was actually looking for a Super Dwarf Retic. I am not really sure who I should be looking at as far as breeders go. Thanks for the info on LLL though. I know ordering from stores is usually a bad idea but I've heard some real horror stories about breeders too.

If anyone knows a good SDR breeder please let me know...thanks.

yea, if ur looking for a SD retic i would deff go with a well known breeder.... u never know what u are actually getting if u buy from someone else, lol... Talk to Harry, SAMHAIN of monster snakes... he's a good guy

Firstly, if you're looking for a specific snake I wouldn't buy from LLL or any other large wholesale company. Especially not over the internet, at shows is another matter entirely cause you can sometimes find gems amongst all the mites. Buy from a reputable breeder, and yes it may take some phone calls and digging to find one. Trust me, if you have some patience you'll end up with a better snake. I've bought many impulse animals from random guys at shows, at my local herp store, or from classifieds online only to find out that the animal(s) are not really worth the instant gratification.

I don't know any dwarf retic breeders, there are some retic breeders here, maybe you can repost your question in the giant snakes section. I have a friend who has an adult female who's only 7'. I can't remember what her locality is off hand, PM if you're interested.

garrick demeyer might still have some babies left. my normal retic came from him, shes 50% super dwarf 50% mainland, over a year old but only 4.5ft long. shes been a perfect snake, no issues whatsoever. harry is awesome too, he just had a clutch of jamp/mainland babies

My friend ordered a snake from LLL a few years ago and the snake came with the lovely gift of cryptosporidium. The disease was far progressed, and she had to be euthanized. He obtained letters from both the vet AND the pathologist stating that, due to how far along the disease was, the crypto had to have come with the snake when my friend purchased it. He wanted to warn them about that the disease was in their facility, and also obviously asking for a refund. They offered him half off of any OTHER snake, as long as that half off didn't exceed $200.

i didnt pay nearly that much for maya LOL i think the more expensive ones from garrick were possible, or 100% hets.

I've been very bad and have been looking at classifieds for super dwarf retics for a few months now... Shhhh...
I told myself that I wouldn't get any more snakes, but the more I keep looking at them, I might have to bend that rule?!?
I dunno. I'm pretty torn on it. I can definitely afford another one, but do I really need it?
