Danger Houston Reptile owners...

I went to a place called Pets-a-Plenty this weekend. Now before I really say anything bad the guy that owns the two shops has been working with reptiles all his life. I think he is a nice guy just think he got in over his head by opening up a second store.
So I went in there Yesturday sorry haven't had a whole lot of time to get on the internet. What do I see a full grown albino Burmese Python in a tiny cage that it can hardly move. To add to that they have a baby regular Burm in the same cage. This would have been ok I guess if it hadn't have been for the Albino keeping his head upside down and just sitting there for 30 minutes. That and maybe in a bigger cage.
Another thing is the guy working there telling someone that a Camen was a good pet to have in a backyard and that you can keep a full grown one in a 40 long tank and trying to talk someone into getting one. Then to top it off some little kids were intrigued by a venimous snake that they saw. The guy pulls it out and starts hitting it on the head trying to get it to flare up.
They had a pretty big Emerald in a low humidity tank that was to small for an emerald that size. It had wrinkles from being dehidrated and stressed out.
They had animals that were in tanks that had mold growing in them. They had anoles mixed with camelions.
I truthfully will not be going there ever again. The conditions were not right at all they had no regulation on the temps of there tanks. The animals were unhealthy. Just a little forwarning. I understand it is a pet store and they are there to make money but it was just a down right bad experience.

Re: Houston Reptile owners...

you said at first that hes been dealing with reptiles for 20 years, and is just over his head opening a second shop...if he had been dealing with reptiles PROPERLY for 20 years then he wouldnt do this, he knows how it should be done, but he chooses to save space and money over making sure the animals all have a healthy life
