That bites ! I'm not looking for any such snake though. Hope someone gets it out of there soon..BUT on the other hand also..If someone were to buy it...All they'd be saying to that pet store is that it is ok to keep em like this and also would make room for the next snake to be treated in such a manner too.

Hey I live in Jax too... but unfortunately am not looking for such a big snake... Don't know that I could handle one like that at this time anyway hehe... Where abouts is Mystic Reptiles? When Trinitywolf was here visiting we went to a few shops...and didn't like any of them... But I don't believe that was one of them... Let me know where it is if you could

Lori is right about that buying from them tells them that it is OK for them to house them like that... Have you happened to have been to the flea market on Beach in the Atlantic Storage facility? There is a lady in there that has snakes and other reptiles... I filed a complaint on her with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commision... they ran a suprise inspection...and according to them all was well when they got there... That wasn't the case when I was there in January... Anyway... just wondered if you have happened to have wandered in there, or know where I am talking about

Let me know Hope someone gets that burm out soon though... I would hate for it to have to suffer in that cramped space much more... Do you think that the shop would be open to suggestions?

Cathy

Whats even worse is that its owned and run by board members of our local herp society. The place has now changed its name from Mystic Reptiles to Caribbean something or other in Riverside. Even though their shop has changed owners and appearance some it is STILL the most disease ridden, mite infested pile of crap. The current owners nephew worked there even before change of owners. Unfortunately I have experience with this place both before and after the so-called clean up, so I know first hand what type of animals they sell. I emailed the President of our local herp society last year and asked him why he would have these people on the board of the herp society and he just claimed he had never been in their shop blah blah blah. Most local reptile shops are nasty but the fact that its run by people active in the Herp Society is really disgusting to me and since then I have had no interest in joining our local herp society. Who would want to if thats the type of care and husbandry they project? Anyways I guess I'll shut up before I say something I'll regret.

oooh man... that back room used to be NAAAASTYYY. They used to have large Burms and Colombians that had sat in those dirty cages and were never bought. They sat there forever. The last time I went in that back room (last year) one of the Colombian Boas had major mouth rot, they were all in nasty cages without water. And some had old stuck sheds. They need to be shut down. It's been about 4 months since I've taken a look inside that broken down shack of a place....but considering the place looks like it's about to fall down it surprises me that they havent been shut down yet.
