Good news about a crappy pet store

Hooray! A bad pet store in my area has been hopefully shut down! I didn't actually get to read the story in the paper, but my hubby said they will spend at least 6 months in jail and have to pay a bunch of fines. There animals were always covered in mites, had little or no water, tiny dirty cages, etc. I hope they are shut down for good! I might call animal control to see if they need homes for any of the reptiles. I will definitely have to quarantine them, if I do, but it would be worth it to know they are neing careed for.

That is great news!! Yes, please call to see if you can foster/adopt the poor herps. It would be nice to know they are being cared for properly.

Thanks for the offer of help, Lori. I tried calling animal control, but the shelter is closed over the weekend, so I'm going to try again Monday. It looks like they've got relatives or something running the store, because even though the owners are being prosectued and I think are in jail, the store is still open. GRRR. I'm hoping they get busted big time and can't afford to stay open.
