I guess I'll go first. Cheap is on the eye of the beholder. With cheap you mean the least amount of $$$ no matter what? Or the best value for the money?
My first BCI was "cheap". At the show, $75. I adore her and she will always be my #1 girl. Nothing special, no color, het, markings, etc. Still she is THE girl. My son in law got his first also at the show, $65 from the "generic" tank-of-boas. He seems happy with it.
But, at the same show I saw some Surinams that were OUTSTANDING. At $175 they were a great deal (I think), but I didn't take advantage of it.
So far, all of mine are from the show or here on this web site.

BCIs will range anywhere from $50-$125 and even more. It all depends on the quality of the animal itself. You can find some pretty good deals here when those that breed have their clutches.

I have a female available for 100 bucks shes healthy and eating well on frozen/thawed pink rats...but I will need some info...I'm not a petstore. My snakes are like my kids. I want to make sure they go to a good home. She was one of my holdbacks that I was going to keep from a litter born here a few months ago. She is an awesome little snake and growing like a weed...this is a photo showing how much bigger she is than her litle brother from the same clutch that was born a runt and is trying his best to remain a runt. LOL...She's the one on top. Btw...I'm local so there will be no need to ship.

Oh...some more info on her. She has never refused a meal other than while in blue to shed then always eats the very next day. She has been given a good dose of preventative worm medicine (flagyl and panacure) Her stool sample was clean...no parasites. She has never even seen a live rodent or anything that didn't require thawing. You can buy them cheaper sometimes....but you won't find any healthier. She could be het for anery also...I haven't figured this out yet. Her mother is Delia, My largest female boa. She has an overall silvery look to her with black saddles and a jet black tail. But sometimes old boas get dark. I didn't have her when she was younger so I don't know if she has always looked this way...All I know is that right now she lacks any red.

females get heftier but there really isn't any difference in the cage requirement. Any adult boa will need at least a 4x2 cage.....really a 6x2 is better...male or female.
