I am interested in obtaining a blood python. I have heard mixed reactions on their temperament. Most say they are always aggressive, only tame and handleable when they are sick. For those of you with blood's, or experience with them, please let me know. Are they the same as most snakes and nippy at first? Or, will they continue to stay that way? I have a bci and a bp now, would like to add another snake to my collection. I just LOVE their patterns, but I have children, so I need to choose wisely on any future additions. Help!!!

Bloods are like any python. As babies they usually are nippy. With handling most tame down nicely.

What exactly is most? I know all snakes vary, but what percentage on average are we looking at? For example, a BP would be probably 95%, versus a retic at 5%(lol). Just looking after the saftey of my family. I am looking at a 1yr old that I have handled, and it seemed tame. But someone else told me that was only because it was probably sick.
