Not many.. I mean there are a lot of reptile stores, but not many I would consider all
that good. (i used to live in HB and in Riverside)
Strikly Reptiles in Riverside is pretty good, highly priced tho... but some nice cages and
animals.. small store.. it's off the 91 by a mall.. there is another reptile store in that same
area, good people run that one, but I can't think of the name off-hand.
Prehistoric Pets is in Fountain Valley, I do NOT like that store, it goes up and down...
I won't go into it, but I'll just say I've called the authorities on them before... they do have
a lot of animals tho (big burms, retics, etc) and a nice waterdragon set-up.
That's all I remember now...

Hisba: Prehistoric Pets has gotten much better lately, but they still aren't perfect. The care of their animals seems to have increased a LOT, but they still aren't staffing the most knowledgeable and/or helpful people.
If you want a great example of where not to go, check out Reptropolis in San Clemente... It's my current mission in life to get that shop shut down.
There aren't really any more that I could really reccomend unfortunately. I'd say give Prehistoric a visit, and you can make a choice if you like the shop enough to purchase animals from them.

if you can wait till july 13 and 14, you'll have the biggest reptile shopping experience you can imagine at the irba show in san diego--it's the biggest show in the west.
(we'll be there)

Since I live in Texas, I am not to aware of California pet shops or locations. I have gotten some great tarantulas and a healthy baby corn snake from PetCenterUSA. The address is: 1747 Pacific Coast Highway Lomita, CA 90717 (310) 325-2002. I am not sure where exactly that is or how the store is set up, but I know that all the dealings I have had with them have been very pleasant. Oh, just for the curious types:
PetCenterUSA
I love looking at all the pictures.

I'll be heading to the San Diego IRBA show myself. On Sunday, July 14th, to be exact. If I don't make it to the San Mateo one in May, then it will be my first show! What sucks is that I'll be broke. Even if I did have money, I'd have nowhere to keep anything I purchased. I'll be down there for the whole week..
Erika, go to: IRBA website for information. I hope to see you there, too!

Actually, though it is small, I always recommend Reptile Tribe, in Redlands California. Their web address is www.tribalreptile.com. I always go there to check out their animals, which are always healthy, the shop is CLEAN. Though the storeowner tends to be a "knowitall" at times, he is a good guy, and helps with anything he can.
