petco is gettin on my nerves...
I was at petco and I don't know why I did it but I asked if I could hold on of there baby rtb's and they said no because one was aggesive and so was one of there ball pythons and corn snakes. They said they were going to 'get rid' of them as soon as possibe. I was so mad! u should see how many snakes are in one cage, there was only one hide in the balls cage and there was like 10 snakes in the 15 gallon tank! and there wasn't even a hide in the rtb's cage... I even told them that there are to many snakes in that cage, they need a hide, etc...and u know what they said? They said they want to keep them like that because they enjoyed seeing the people pass their cages! I was like WTF?! They probably think that just cuz I'm 14 I'm a complete retard... man that ruined my whole day..

Most employees at Petco's talk nonsense to customers. I was at Petco today and on the "label" for the RTB's, it said, "Can be housed with similar sized boa constrictors."
Yes of course they can, but they shouldn't be housed together except for breeding... dorks. Most petcos are like that.. there's nothing you can really do.
Did they say how they were getting rid of them?
The petco here had a pair of black racers..... real mean, high strung suckers. Nobody would get them out for me, and they were real weary of even letting me get them because I look like I don't know anything. Pfft... Needless to say, I eventually got them. I couldn't get them the first day though because the employees there were too chicken to get them out, so I had to wait until the more confident employee came to work to get them out for me. They kept trying to hold them to calm them down, but there was no way they would... they are always high strung racers.

generally by means of adoption.
thats how I got my agressive boa, that used to go after everyone but once he became mine he was the sweetest snake ever... go figure eh?
sad part is they were afraid of him, and he was probably under 2'

But they said they needed to get rid of them because they were not sutable for adoption...they probably don't even handle them..man I wish I could just go there and take him away

Yeah that's what I would do.
I'd go there if I could and demand that I take them home, myself.

Petco in Fort Wayne, IN saw the last of me and Mousey last Monday. It was my second visit there and I should have known better then going back again, but I couldn't help myself. There were seven BP's averaging 18" in a 20 gal tank. Two of them appeared to still have their eyecaps on, one had a double shed still stuck to it, all had pieces from a bad shed stuck to them. The one with the double shed really just about put the tears into my eyes, cause it was just laying there totally lethargic, all wrinkled up and dehydrated beyond imagination.
I can't just go and adopt all the snakes that I know aren't being housed and/or treated right (my hubby would so make me sleep in the dog house!), therefore the only thing I can do is not go there anymore and forget that Petco exists. ... That is so WRONG - denying a problem doesn't solve it.

Now I get to tell my PetCo saga AGAIN
I went to PetCo Weds to buy a F/t small rat for my cornsnake. Usually their small rats are SMALL. I got a very LARGE SMALL rat out of the bag marked ADULT SMALLS, and went on to pick up a few more things.
When I went to check out, I noticed the cashier was a N00b, OH NO..
So she grabs the bag and I told her what was in it.
She mushes it around a little bit, "Nope that feels like a Large to me" and proceeds to ring up a LARGE rat..
I said, "No its a small, but its a big small..You can look and see"
"I dont like rats" she says, and then immediately pages a supervisor to the front.
Once the supervisor gets there, she tells the supervisor that there is NO way my rat is a small rat, and asks if she should just charge for a large.
The supervisor, who has seen me countless times, said, "nope its a small, our shipment was of smalls were really big"
So I give the Murophobe my money and wait patiently for my change..She closes the drawer, and then has the gall to say to me "Im through with you now"
So I told her, "umm, not till I get my change"
Thats not the first freak without a leash Ive dealt with at a Pet Store. I think most people agree..If you are scared of an animal they sell, you dont need to be working in a pet store!
