I purchased an albino boa from these guys and the thing was the result of some very close bloodline breeding.
These guys have good prices on there albinos but they are very bad quality, I would not recommend these people at all.
Hope this helps future snake buyers!
Here is a copy of the letter I sent them:
This is in regards to : A-ABOA33 Baby albino Colombian
boa female #33
order # 2901 purchased on 1/3/2005 and received on
2/3/2005
This is just to inform you on the issues of that
snake. After receiving this snake she was placed in
Quarantine for 4 weeks, she seamed a little slower
than the others at this age, and not as active.
She ate every week, pooped normal, and shed OK.
After quarantine I began to notice that this snake had
very thin skin, one eye was a little different than
the other, and still she was a little slow and weak.
I then took her to the local snake Vet. and they said
see is the product of the same blood line, closely
related breeding. The Vet. than said that she will
deteriorate with age.
At this time the snake will not move in the cage, she
stays coiled up in a corner. Only goes to the
bathroom when placed in the tub. And when held is very
limp and weak.
The Vet. says she will not last too much longer.
This letter is to let you know of the issues with the
location of were you get your snakes. I am not the
only one who bought from this litter. This close of
bloodline inbreeding is wrong.
This letter and the response will be posted on
Fauna
herptrader
boaconstictor.com and net
redtailboa.net
kingsnake
and any other sites that I belong too.
Thanks, and I hope to get a response soon

I'm sorry to hear that, but there is a high cost for fashion today. No one seems to want a normal boa anymore. Everyone is in a contest to have the prettiest colored snake now a days. I read the forums daily, all you see is pictures of morphs. Imagine the lengths people go through to produce these morphs. Their probably taking to albino babies from the same litter and breeding them. Then take two more babies from the same litter and breed them. It is big business, their is alot of money changing hands for these snakes. It's like a big race to see who can have the biggest collection of morphs, alot of the times just to post pictures and brag to strangers on the forums. These breeders will tell you what you want to hear, to get that $1500.00 or so from unsuspecting customers who want a pretty snake. Good luck on any future purchases!!!

Reply From Aaareptilesupply.com
THIS IS THE REPLY I GOT FROM THEM:
"To whom it may concern,
I apolologize for your dissatisfaction, I have contacted the breeder.
He
wants a copy of your vet report. Then he would like the boa returned to
him thru me so he can get a second opinion. All his boas are unrelated
&
I stand behind his belief. The fact remains that you are unsatisfied &
AAA Reptile needs to do something to rectify the problem. I am doing my
best in your interest. We need to go thru this problem by the numbers.
I
will say that AAA Reptile will make this up to you even if the breeder
does not help us out. I sold these boas for a friend , I did not make
one cent off the transaction. This is very awkward for me because of
this fact. I hope you understand this point. Regardless AAA will make
it
right even if the breeder does not rectify this with us. Again, I
hope
you understand the position AAA Reptile is in & the lenths we are
perpared to go thru to make this right.
Thank you,
Darby Cunningham

I SENT THEM MY VET REPORT OVER A WEEK AGO, no word from them again.

if nothing happens in a few days or so contact them in regards to this situation and the email...call them if you hafta and talk to them directly.. there should be reason why they should not work with you on this.. If they fail to cooperate in making their customer's satisfied you can file a complaint with the better business bureau and if there are a number of complaints filed against them then an investigation will be ensued with the bureau.
it may sound like it's blowing this out of proportion but its how you get things done in the business world. No likes to deal with the BBB and you can even file a complaint on the ripoff report website..
you paid $$ for this snake...so you need take it back, but ONLY if the breeder and seller will not work with you. also check the terms and conditions of the sale if any.. if there is none given then you can persue this with legal action. Dont make threats, state your facts and points and make it known that you're not gonna let this go until something is done to resolve this.
this is just a suggestion.. good luck

Oh my God i am sorry ! That kind of is beyound wrong i totally agree with you and i am a breader of RTBs and i would never inbread. But I would tell them you want a 100% refound and then go to KingSnake.com the breaders on there are pretty good and i have had very good luck with buying snakes from them. But then again i dont buy morphoes the only morph i invested in are circle backs. But soon i will be getting into elbinos and if i find good breader i will let you know. Also if your looking for a good quality snake you can E-mail me and ill find you what your looking for and hopfully i can beat the prices of others but no promises. My E-mail is KristinaRist565@msn.com but it will be changing soon so E-mail ASAP if i can help you out in any way. Well Sorry again about you missfortune and i am willing to help you out if want or need me to.

If you live in the US and purchase an albino boa. It is a product of heavy inbreeding and there is no way around that. The albino boa gene pool is about as shallow and muddied with defects as it gets. It doesn't matter if the two parents were from the same litter or not. Both parents came from a heavy line of inbreeding before. Albinos started off in the US pet trade in very limited numbers. The population has exploded so fast that there is no possible way that any responsible breeding practices were ever followed. Each time a new breeder gets a pair, they figure they can safely inbreed a few generations with no regard to how many inbred generations happened to their blood line before they got their animals or how many will follow once they sell off their offspring. It's a ruthless cycle.
