My family and I made a weekend trip to Fayetteville, NC and of course had to make the rounds of the local pet stores seeing as we were considering getting a second pomeranian. We came across Aqua-rama pet store on Bragg Blvd. This place has to be one of the most disgusting pet stores I have ever been in!!!! It stinks, especially in the back area where they have the birds and iguana cages. The people in the store were befitting of the conditions the animals are kept in. What made things even worse were the prices! A normal BP for $149, a normal
BCI $149. A drab, dehydrated BRB for $400. They did have a nice looking
BCI with absolutely no black what so ever and some gorgoues pinks and reds but it was $400. Even if it was a $30 I would not have dropped a penny in that store though.
Here are some of the things that we saw......
- Heat rocks in every cage
Wild caught black racers in cages with garters and corn snakes
Dirty care fresh bedding for substrate in all the cages
brazilian rainbow boa in with a colombian boa
a BCI supposedly that had just aborted babies and was only 4' if it was lucky, the same snake had about 5 layers of retained shed.
A wire cage with iguanas and tortoises running around together.
I could go on and on... it was disgusting!
