Hey BWW!
I have a crested gecko. She's a cutie! She is in a 10 gallon tank at the moment with a bunch of silk plants to hide in and a moss bottom for moisture. She seems to be doing fine. (I only got her a few months ago from Joe)
I'd say good Pet!!!!!

aaawww thanks.. I was thinking that once Cassie gets home i can get her motivated to help me get a real nice cage set up and she can help me work with them.. Cassie likes fire red and chacolate, i like the ones that are a bule looking color.. I was wondering what is everyone feeding theres?? As i know they need a diet of fruits, baby food and crickets, waxworms, mealworms, but there is a new formula out that is called Crested Gecko Diet by T-Rex has anyone used this at all?? Thanks for all the input..

Cresties are great, fascinating little geckos. Not quite as handleable as Leos, but a load of fun to watch at night. Good luck finding the T-Rex stuff, as I checked on thier website and they don't seem to admit the stuff exists, and so far I have not been able to get Sandfire Dragon Ranch to answer either (they did most of the product testing/development on it). Try different baby foods, apricot, pear, bannana, a touch of honey, some vit supplement, a calcium supplement, and some spirulum(blue green algae food stuff, can be found at health food or natural food stores). If you mix all that right, you can maintain them without the bugs for the most part. As for bugs, yea, they eat a few crix a week, will take mealies out of a dish, so they will prolly take waxies too, though I would be afraid that would make em sick. They don't need a ton of space, but like to hide all day, both ground level and higher up, so make sure they have vines and plants high and low. Temps are easy, they like room temp to the low 80's. Mist em once to twice a day,and they are happy campers.
Good luck
Brian

Nyte,
I got my cresties last saturday and they still have not realy started eating normaly yet,i think they did take out a few crickets though. They have not touched the baby food. They have various temps in there cage from 74-79. There is no heat source, but a 7.5 watt bulb for show.. it only raises the temps about 2-3 degrees. how long does it normaly take for them to start eating normaly?

Ok, a few questions, how old or large are they? WC or CB? What size enclosure and how is it set up? How much traffic do tehy see in the area? What kinda baby food are you using? How are you offering it? What time are you offering it? How many crickets are you offering? How many animals in the enclosure? How many hiding places do they have? How much time have you given them completely alone to settle in? I know, a lot of info asked for, but it will help.... In my experience, it may take them up to a couple weeks to settle in fully, just make sure the husbandry is right, that they have water available. Offer them food regularly, though they are not known for eating a lot of crix, some large breeders offer as few as half dozen per animal per week. Also, you might ask where you got them from what they were being fed, as some places prefer to feed worms, as they are less hassle than crix.

1 per enclosure, one is in a 10 gallon... one is in a 12"x12"16" BARRS cage. I offer crickets (1/4 inch) every other day and baby food every day (apricot and banana) They are appx. 3-4 months old one is 4 inches one is 5 inches. I offer 4-5 crickets at a time. I offer usualy at night. I dont hold them accept for when i brought them home for about 30 seconds and when i need to clean the cage.. one other time is when i took pictures of them. The food is offered in a bowl same with water, and i mist them once or twice a day. I got them from LLLReptile..
