I was just wondering how many of you have a plated lizard.. and also how do you house and care for yours and what kind it is as there are so many diffrent plated lizards.. Mine is a rescue Ornate Plated.. hes really sweet and even though hes missin some toes hes a real character and very easy to handle and work with.. I think they are missunderstood and because most are such a drab color they get passed by as a real good first pet.. Lori hows the plated lizard doing that ya got in????? Have you noticed that it has a personality, like knows who you are or comes to the front of the cage at feeding time or acts cool and does funny things... Mine plays peakaboo with the water soak pan.. crawls under it and pops his head out as people walk by or he sits ontop of his hide house and looks at things in the room.. When we take him out he is content to just sit in our laps and watch things that are going on around him.. He loves chasing after his night crawlers, loves to pick certian things out of his feed dish and loves taking hamburger from your fingers...baby mice he has to sit there and check them out real good befour he eats them.. What a character he is... They make such wonderful pets!!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever you do, don't ask Brett about Plateds.
I have some general care info on them somehwhere here in my ever expanding library. I'll dig it out and post it here in the next day or so.

anyone else have a plated lizard that has a time of the day or night where it is full of energy?? mine seems to like late night play time he runs around and pops in and out of his hide house almost like hes playing peek-a-boo and is just wound right up.. gets in his water dish swims and then runs to his house only to come back out and chow down on food and then play somemore.. Hes a real trip sometimes makes me laugh for hours.. When i look at him or go to pick him up he turns his head and looks at me with those little eyes as if to say , "What you looking at lady, cant a guy have some fun.."
