hey all,
anyone know anything about plated lizards? there is a pair of them (a big one and a small) at my local pet shop where i get my mice. they look like they've seen better days. and the smaller one is definatelly stressed out and has a few wounds from where the bigger one nipped at it. they're both very thin especially around their thighs and waists. i don't know what they're eating but it doesn't seem to be doing any good. can anyone tell me what they eat and what i should tell the store manager? i want to have good relations with the shop cause i want to get a job there so i can "clean up" the reptile section. thanx!

Hey Drax I think the plated lizard's get pretty close to 24 inch's including tail and are a 900 mph lizard til you get your hand's on them then they stop trying to run other than that I don't know???? As far as eating I pretty sure it's cricket's and other insect's!

well...plated lizards are generally a mid sized lizard, reaching sizes of around 18-24 inches.
they tend to be very docile, and make good pets...not flighty at all.
anyway, as for the diet, they generally do best on a diet consisting of canned monitor&tegu chow, canned cat food every once in a while, fruits like bananas, crickets, superworms and mice. hope this helped!
