my skink will only eat meat.

HE wont eat his veggies! the same problem happened with my beardie and i Have to force feed him iggy pellets now. I tried it with the skink but he wont swallow. heck just sit there with a mouthfull of soaked pellets and then just spit it out later. he wont eat anything that doesnt move. what should I do? Make sure and feed the pellets and veggies first when he is hungry...and then toss in a couple of dusted crickets to chase around. If they fill up on crickets first...it's like giving a kid cake before dinner.
