Great Plains Skinks Babies.
It would figure that they hatched today. I wanted to catch them hatching so I programmed my calendar to notify me at the earliest date they should have begun to hatch. I had it all scheduled out that I would be sterilizing soil and setting up the enclosure this Friday so it would be all ready for them when they hatched next week.
LOL, so much for that plan. They caught me with my pants down and hatched last night, but there is still hope. Though there are only 6 in this pic there are 9 hatched, 5 hiding in the vermiculite, of the 14 eggs so far. With any luck I will get a pic of one of the remaining 3 hatching today or tomorrow.
I just spent the last three hours mixing & soil, nuking it and nuking the bark for them to hide under.
Boy am I glad I have two cricket breeding containers with pin heads right now.
For size the container is 9.5 inches in diameter.

Re: Great Plains Skinks Babies.
So cute John, I couldn't help but catch a blue tailed 5 lined for a temporary pet myself.
Do there tails fade like the 5 lined skinks?

Yes, sadly they lose the beautiful blue and purplish coloration as they mature. About the time their adult patterning starts appearing I'll need to seperate them because they get territorial.
