Re: Look what I found
Nice find.
I spent a few days in Fla last year looking for one of those and all I saw were dozens of Browns.

.
I read an article some years ago how the modern range of Anolis carolinensis is the result of them being dragged all over the US by Carnivals and roadside shows that would give them away as prizes or sell them for two-bits. This supposedly happened back in the 40s and 50s.
.
The brown anole is here in South Texas too. It's easy to find in most any nursery where plants are brought in from Florida. The big box stores are the very worst, IE: Wal Mart and Home Depot.. I got a Cuban tree frog and a Tokay gecko from the Wal Mart near me! (still searching for a pygmy rattler!).
.
For some reason the climate here does not support the browns, you see a few one season and then the next they're gone. Of course Florida is overrun with them!
.
Be safe.

Re: Look what I found
I can actually confirm that story RioBravoReptiles. I remember catching one and showing it to my grandmother, she says Oh I remember winning those Chameleons at the carnival when I was young.
She still calls them chameleons
