Sauromalus sp. from Mexico.
The parents (and grandparents) of these guys and gals were originally brought from PTO. Penasco, Sinaloa, Mexico..
.

.

.

.
.. as you can see they are fairly social animals and like to be with friends! I used to keep and produce several localities of Chuckwalla but they require special atttention and conditions. It's not fun listening to people explain how an animal you watched hatch and grow is now dying or dead! .. so I only keep this one group now, as pets.
.
Though they lack some of the color that lizard buyers often look for they more than make up for that lack in personality.. they'll climb up on me for their favourite flowers and treats. Just great critters.. I visit with them on every sunny morning just to put a big smile on my face!
.
Thanks for looking!

Re: Sauromalus sp. from Mexico.
Oh I wish I would have had space for one! They are just too cute! So chubby I love it! I know I couldn't give them the space they really need right now.
Guess I can settle for enjoying your pictures of them!
What a wonderful way to drink your coffee in the morning, watch your animals in a nice naturalistic environment

Re: Sauromalus sp. from Mexico.
..Thanks! .. that's right, coffee and Chucks' in the morning!
.
Here's how I set up those pens...
.

.
They aren't really complete until a few things get growing in them. The cactus is a favourite (the chucks eat the new pads too).
.
Have fun.
