starter lizards
i want a lizard but i dont know what a good starter lizard is. I want a lizard thats friendly and good with children but i dont want to get anything to big. Any suggestions??

I agree that bearded dragons and blue tongue skinks would be good choices, but also look into leopard geckos and Uromastyx.
The most important thing is: research whatever you get thoroughly before you get it.

Uros are sorta hard to keep temps on. BUT i have no expeirence with them so not sure, THATS WHAT I HAVE HEARD

I'd say go with either a bearded dragon, Leopard Gecko, or Blue tongue Skink. Make sure you do your research.

beardies! get about 18 inches on average. if worked with for their entire life they are very tame. my 8 yr old and 3 yr old cousin love my beardie. and he is soo calm

yes leopard geckos may not look like much when in pictures but with their raptor like eyes and devil faces they are pretty cool when seen in person.
Bearded Dragons (Omnivour, UVB Lights Required)
Leapord Gecko (Carnivirous, Small)
Blue Tounge Skinks (Omnivours, dont know much else on them)
Uromystax (Vegitarian *controversy if animal protein should be given*, High heat, Low humidity, High UVB) (Not the best 1st lizard IMO)
There you go a quick low down on the most commonly suggested 1st lizards. | |
