Any animal that basks needs UVB. (IMO) Dogfood is not the best... Go with a high quality catfood(higher in protein) that lists meats for the first ingredients and no byproducts. BTS.net is the best site out there for BTS (IMO).

Just an update:
Bruiser is doing pretty good
He seems to be settling in and is more comfortable. He is growing rapidly!Still not eating great but his appetite HAS improved He shows no interest in ANY insects but is eating veggies, fruit and a tiny bit of good canned cat food when he doesn't eat anything else(if he refuses the good veggies etc,I mix a bit of the cat food into it and he seems to like it)
I just wanted to let y'all know he is doing good

That's great... It's been cool out so I'm sure he is a little slow. As long as he is growing and acting ok you should be fine. I'd make sure you get a fecal sample to a vet to rule out anything there. A lot of babies this time of year are wildcaught or farmed... I'm so glad he is doing better!

Re: Bruiser:Blue Tongue Skink
Patrick likes dog or cat food-though cat food smells stronger so he goes for it faster!
I finely chop his veggies, then mash with his cat food and serve-he eats like a hungry lion.
Then licks his entire face with that big blue napkin!!
We need more pictures to see his cuteness....
