I was just wondering if anyone else here have any chinese water dragons? I just got two for my anniversary and want to know what you folks think of yours, mine are hilarious. They are unnamed as of this moment, but I am sure that will change. I was just wondering.

I cannot believe that no one here has a water dragon......By the way their names are Fletsam and Jetsam, so as not to offend them whenever we find out their sexes. Just moving this so hopefully someone will tell me about their water dragons......

water dragons are wonderful pets. I currently have 3 and am hoping to get another. they are very entertaining to watch. just to let you know water dragons reguire lots of calcium and a uvb light or they could get bone disease. i give mine vitamins 2 times a week and they are doing wonderful. my biggest one is a girl and she is 2 feet long. whenever i have time i let her have free run of the room. the only problem is she is always trying to climb the blinds. you can not find out if they are male or female until they are about 18 inches.

From what I have learned about the water dragons is that they require large enclosures, something like a 6x3x3 for a single adult, but I may be wrong on the exact size. I also have seen a few come back in to local pet shops with nose rubbings from charging the glass on their enclosures and a lack of calcium. Supposedly they are farily aggressive when it comes to their reflections

Well hopefully this waste of space of a post will bump it up and get someone's attention that has some real knoweldge

I have a water dragon, She is great. Still little right now. From what I have read they need a lot of room. I just bought a 7 tall 4 1/2 wide 3 deep glass cage for her. She is still small now but it was in the paper for 200.00 I got it for 100.00. the doors on the cage are the 7 tall as well sliding glass with lock and lighting is already done. I have to buy some fab to hang on the sides and back of cage. THEY ARE Rubbers.... They can mess up the noise for sure. Look in the paper before goingt o a pet store for a cage..... sometimes you can find them when stores go out of buss. Mine was a make up show case at a mall here in town.... the people I bought it from never used it but thought about buying a boa.... The thing is huge!

OFW, sounds good, and sounds like you have a nice setup going there. Welcome to the site.

By the way, I never noticed this thread, and it's likely too late. But, how come nobody said anything about piercedsilence18's water dragon? Well anyways, just an observation.

Bry

That's a very good question Bry.... I even answered on this one a while back. Must be that those that did answer answered on the initial post and scrolled past everything else. I dont know.

wow all I can say is read my old care sheet on waterdragons. It's in the caresheet section of this site---it's about aussie dragons but you'll see my views on greens.
Not all greens are that difficult---but 80% are. And most problems arise after the first year.
