Hi I saw this really cool looking lizard called an amieva, and was going to purchase one. But I didn't have the heart to do that because I knew nothing about it. I looked everywhere on the web and theres no information on them. Could someone give me a link or at least tell me some detail on these wonderful looking lizards.
I would like to know what their enclosure requrements are. I heard that amieva's can get pretty big. I heard that they were a medium lizard. That's all I know. I was going to post links to some sites but there were too many to list here.....
try going to www.google.com and typing in AMEIVA and you should be able to find plenty of info.

Look here, under the lizard heading.
Anapsid.org
Their size depends on what species it is.
What did they call it?
Ameiva, green ameiva, what exactly?

Green amieva I think?
I found a little info on them at petsmart. Man they can grow up to 20 inches! They also tame down really quickly. Looks like a good pet I think I'm going to buy one!

Yeah well thank you for the information on the amievas on Melissa Kaplin's site. I think they still sound like a awesome species of reptile.

ok i know how petco and petsmarts usually are. but im sick of hearing you guys bashing them. i work at a petco in peoria IL. we have 4 people all of whom can help and actually teach you the right info one reptiles. and im one of them. i work very hard to give people the right infor and help them make eduacated decisions on their animals. i do agree that most of those places are a bunch of crap but ours is actually one of the best petshops around. just to let you guys know there all some good stores around
