I used to raise anoles a while back--the thing you have to consider is even though they are small and inexpensive--they still require the same sort of setup as any other duirnal lizard. They need excellent uvb, a 20 gallon tank (they are tiny but require room to jump and move around) and you cannot ever mix two males in a group.
Are they green anoles or browns?
I found this page very helpful a long time ago and it has since been updated:

Am I being adopted? Help me decide.
Okay guy's and gal's. Okay, I'm a southerner so I'll just get down to it, y'all.
I posted a picture of this guy (I think, I have no idea) the other day. I love each and every one of my "porch pets" and take them as a personal responsibility. I landscape like crazy and plant each flower with love but when it comes down to it I do it for the animals that it attracts and will NEVER spray a pesticide on my property. No matter what my plants start looking like.
I thought perhapse this little one was a fluke and just a color change more dramatic then the rest. Then I saw him again in his "dark phase".
I posted on an anole board and they said that the sun probably wouldn't be harmful to him like I was worried about but that he would be more succeptable to predators because of his color.
You guys remember my post about the bearded dragon. I have a bug phobia. I will do whatever I have to do for a pet that I'm responsible for but I won't like it. Aside from that I've heard that anoles aren't easy pets. I don't care if they are easy and require work but I wouldn't want to be responsible for killing him due to stress for any reason.
So, my choices are keep it outside (where I've always thought anoles belong) and risk the predators getting it or bring it in and risk the stress getting it.
FWIW--I do not believe in taking animals from the outside and bringing them into captivity. I teach my children not to do this and even not to catch them because of stress and respect. I just have a concern for this little one and want to know what his best chances are. I trust y'all more then any other site so basically you will be making my decision for me.
New pictures from today--Two on the bottom are his "dark phase". I'd hate to tell the little one but that is NOT brown. It is barely distingushable from his bright yellow little self.
Clickable images.

Tee-hee. Woopsy, why did I do this on this post instead of starting a new topic. Darn'it. 10:30 and I'm still not awake. Sorry for the ditziness.
BTW--If an admit wants to move this to it's own thread I won't be hurt in the least.

Somebody from the other forum wants it to breed, thoughts? He is retired now but has kept anoles since college days. He lives close.

Hmm...If it were me, I would keep it :P He's very cute! lol \
Im not BIG on WCs, but I realize the CBs we have now, were at some point from WC lineage. When I start keeping natives, Im sure they will be WC, since essentially you can't buy sell or trade natives in my state.
Regardless of color, the animal is going to be at a high risk for predators, that is part of its natural place in the world, unfortunately for it.
This is a decision you will have to make on your own, I'm afraid. If you feel you are compelled to try to keep it, I say go for it. It would give your kids a chance to observe a native species on a regular and contained environment, as well as in nature.
