Horned Lizards
Long, LONG ago....when I was a little girl in Oklahoma, I remember my grandfather and I catching "horned toads" in the garden. I think they are correctly called horned lizards. I remember that many times I had blood squirted on me by a not so happy horned toad.(Then I had a not so happy mom) LOL They loved to bury themselves in the sand when frightened. They also loved to eat red ants. Does anyone know where I could get one of the little guys now?

I saw some nice ones at a reptile show in Tunica Mississippi. G & G Reptiles had them, but I cant find a site.. You could probably contact Next Generation Exotic Expos and ask for vendor contact info for G & G and call them and see what they have..The horned dragons they had looked to be in good shape with gorgeous reds and black colorations
Side note: There have been some random sightings here in Arkansas..They have been known to be in SW Missouri and NE Oklahoma, so its plausible theyd be here as well..

Horned Lizards I believe aren't bred in captivity because their diet is composed of nothing but ants, and they eat several hundred to a couple thousand daily. They are extremely difficult to keep in captivity.
