Frilled Dragons and Mice/Rats

I have a Frilled Dragon that is about 18 months old which is currently eating crickets /mealworms / fuzzy mice and rat pups. She does not seem overly fussed about the crickets & mealworms but tries to take your hand off when offering mice/rats. Does anyone know if it will be detrimental to switch her onto solely rats and mice as she is carniverous and mice/rats are a more complete nutrient package than crickets/mealworms.

cheers
Nick

its best to keep them just as occasional treat as you can cause damage to their liver and heart and causes them serious health problems because of the high amounts of protein much like what happens in varanids and tegus fed primarily on rodents
keep feeding your frilled dragon inverts maybe a good idea to start breeding cockroaches or bigger insects to feed it if the locusts, mealworms etc aren't satisifing it

Okay I will stick with the crickets and mealworms then, but I am not keen on cockroachs so will probably use locust as a larger insect. I knew that excessive protien was a problem in iguana's but was not fully sure with frilled dragons as they do take rodents in the wild. Unlike iguana's that only ingest protien from plants unless an insect is unfortunate enough to be sat on the leaf its eating.

Cheers
Nick
