Whoa dude. Yes, that looks nice, but thats not practical for a lizard *at all*. Look up some care sheets for asian water dragons and use the same basic setup for your basilisk. You want to give them a lot of *land* and a large water *pan*. It's not a frog or a turtle, no matter how they had it set up at the store. This is sorta like keeping a turtle without something to get him out of the water. Don't get offended or anything, but this is definitely a case where something that looks nice (and really, you did a good job in that respect) is still way off for the animal. This is going to result in some serious problems.

well this aint no waterdragon.....in which case I would probably agree.
This idea was taken from a guy who successfully raises them --and their really aren't too many of those.
The only thing I would do differently is go much larger...bassies seem to do well with more space the wd's. And if I were to guess---just my opinion mind you----if you go ahead, make the cage larger, and add alot of land, the animal will probably not utilize it as much as he would more water.
They are aquatic, arboreal creatures.

ya, Nicole, i will definitely do it in the future. i am gonna put him in a 4X2X2 cage which includes a pond and some land in it. But, right now, they are still in my thought. i dont know if i can really build a pond in a cage. do u guys have any idea how could i build a pond in a cage without using a big plactic pan cux i like something more similar to the nature.

I know more than one person who have raised and bred them (granted, nobody stuck at it), and this is news to me. I've seen this kind of get up at pet stores, but never heard of it being practically applied in the hobby. I might be wrong, but I think this has even fallen out of favor with tree frogs. Its not even a great idea to keep leopard frogs this way. And they're unmistakably aquatic.
There is a big difference between a lizard that lives *in* the water (off the top of my head I can think of only three in the hobby, and none are common), and a species that occurs *near* water and utilizes it for other means.
GB care sheet
A better GB care sheet
I don't want to come off snarky (too late, I know!), but I can't see how this kind of setup is anything but problematic for the keeper and the animal. I'm really curious as to why this was hit on as a successful approach to this species. The functionality completely escapes me.
