crocodiles
is there a section for crocs that i missed?? or is it just in here? anyway i was just curious if there were any others out there keeping any sorts of gators or crocs. all i have right now is a "diamond" caiman which is a hybrid. used to have a dwarf caiman before this one. pretty interesting creatures, just wondering if anyone else there has one . . . and if this post should even be in this section or not. i looked, didn't see a croc section

I thought so but had to ask.
My first reptile was an alligator. About 20 years ago I got it from a student wanting to dump it and told me it was a caiman. I was such an idiot.

Cuvier's dwarfs usually top out around 4 foot for females and 5 foot for males. Schneider's dwarfs can get to 7 foot easily. When sold, quite often they never actually mention which species it is. The main issue with Cuvier's is that their bodies are so stout, you can't safely tail them for quick maneuvers like you can often do with slightly larger species, plus in my experience, they have easily four times the attitude of, say, a spectacled caiman and they are rather psycho compared to a typical american alligator temperment. They may be smaller, but they're definitely more of a handful.
