Poor little guy
We've had a cute little lizard living in the bushes in front of my office here for like 3 years now. Well, this morning one of my employees accidentally stepped on him. When I checked him out, he was very lively but both his eyes were exploded out. Needless to say, I put him out of his misery. He wouldn't have survived, but it sure didn't feel good to have to do that.

No, but I seriously thought about making him put the lizard out of it's misery. Oh well.

You did the right thing, if my eyes were bulging out of my head because an elephant stepped on me I would expect the same kind of courtesy. Sometimes my cat catches pigeons and birds off of the balcony and if he doesn't snap there neck most of the time my mom and I have to do what you did and put the birds out of there misery. Pain is the worst part about dying, and im sure all of us hope that when its our time to part we go with with as much little pain as possible. Don't feel bad, there will be millions of lizards to take his place.
