wow, great shot, as usual, JW!
I've got a question.....I assume that the aligator is in captivity....is it kept indoors? Seems like the majority of albino herps have very UV sensitive skin, so I was wondering if it had any special arrangements if it was kept out doors...

Hi Lori,
I've never heard of the Virginia Show Group?
A question for you, how did you get that nice looking graphic to appear to the left of your posts?
Thanks,
John

Thanks for the kind words!
Albino (or leucistic) crocodilians don't survive very long in the wild. Because of the lack of pigment they can't hide from predators or sneak up on prey. You're correct, albino crocodilians must be kept in the shade to avoid being sunburned. The enclosure that this 8 footer is in only allows a small amount of filtered sunlight to enter.

LOL John.. I couldn't remember the whole name of the "group" ..
It's Northern Virginia Reptile Expo that I was refering to. I asked cuz pics you post are on their site pics pages. Located HERE
As for the avator pic on the left of my posting.. they were made up for Admins awhile back. They are individually linked into the site for each of us that has them [ There's 6 admins of RTB]. The snake in mine is my Guyana Boa.. ABBY-LUV..

Sorry, Lori at times I can be pretty slow.... I helped with the Northern Virginia Reptile Expo ( www.nvre.org) web site. Chip Doss and family the sponsor and organizer of the NVRE ( www.nvre.org/cmd) show are good people and sell some unique, low cost, glass enclosures that I use for many of my herp photos.
Allow me to re-phrase my last question. I would like to add my own graphic to the left of my posts. Is there a way to do this, if so how?
Thanks,
John

It is my understanding that there are less than a half dozen of those (last I heard it was about 3, but I am not sure). My understanding is that they are all males. I know that there were some females, but the males killed them Great looking animals though.
