I've seen long tailed grass lizards at a pet store and am interested in buying a couple; I haven't been able to find much info on them. I want to know: If I can keep two males together / If I can keep two lizards in the ten gallon tank I have laying around or if I need a bigger one / What type of lighting they need / If I can just use peat moss for the substrate / And, Will it be okay to use twigs and stuff I find in my yard for them to climb on. I would also like all the information you can give me about these lizards.

I wouldn't keep 2 anoles in a 10 gallon. I wouldn't keep to males in a 10 gallon for sure. 2 Males will require a disproportionally large cage for the size of the lizards, to provide a territory for each, or the dominant one will stress out the submissive one.

Now, about this lizard, you need to memorize the URL www.google.com it works really well.

Takydromus sexlineatus sexlineatus is the scientific name for this lizard, also know as the Six-lined Grass Lacerta in addition to long tailed grass lizard, and a bunch of other names depending on the locality.

If you are referring to the T. sexlineatus, they are wonderful lizards. I had three in a 20-gallon tall. A 10-gal aquarium is not tall enough for them as they preferred to be arboreal. They like to climb around a lot. We had golden pothos which we washed to make sure there were no traces of pesticides. The lizards would wind among the branches from our olive and pecan trees that we put in around the plant. I never noticed aggressiveness between them, unlike the anoles which fought constantly, even the females had a pecking order.

Re: Long Tailed Grass Lizard

Long Tailed Grass Lizards are an amazing lizard at fisrt they may not do much but give em time. You can house Them together but i would recommend ATLEAST a 15g for 2, you should start with a 15 and for 1 and every lizard u add,add 5 more Gs. feed them 4-5 times a week or every other day. peat moss is ok from what i hear. i prefer coconut fiber it sets a nice background. Also sticks and stuff from your yard is ok i use it but it is not recommmended, if you wash it with a 3% bleach solution then rinse with water it, it is more recommendable. Wash the cage and clean dung up once a week use 3% for that also dont forget to rinse until smell of bleach is gone keep the cage about 75% humidity sparying it 1-2 times a day. make sure they have a basking of about 90-95*F and general tempature of about 80*F during day, and 70s at night.
a screen lid is a must so they dont escape. A uvb/uva light is also needed it must be on 10-12 hours a day. Dust the crickets with a calcium supplement 3 time a week. supply a shallow water dish for drinking change it daily. All in all they are a rewarding creature i recomend to the expierenced and beginner level reptile keepers
