Mountain Horned Dragon HEY STORMY
I know Stormy has them. I'm getting one as an adoption. From what I'm told shes having a hard time getting it to eat crix. But its eating pinky mice. Is this ok? is that too much protien for it?
From what i know they like cooler temps high 60's to low 70's very humid, arboeal, need some UVB, and i thought they were insectavores.
Any GOOD caresheets out there, or better personal experiences?

Ed... I am not going to claim to know a lot about them... I have had moderate success with them and have never tried to breed them. The ones I have had were wild caught and were questionable to start of with but managed to survive over a year in captivity with me. We've only had two so far.
You are pretty much right on the cool temps and high humidity. One of the keys for them is moving water... they will not drink water unless it is moving. That means either a bubbler bowl or a water fall and spraying the cage at least once a day. I feed ours a rotating diet of crix, meal worms, and night crawlers. The night crawlers are the favorite though.... they will sometimes hold out for days waiting on them. Anywhooo.. here's a link to a couple of care sheets.....

If you decide you dont want to deal with it I will gladly take it off your hands.

I dont know... I have not offered any of them pinkies and they like the night crawlers so much that I think they get more than enough protein there. About two or three night crawlers to a feeding and they seem to be very content. As they get to adult size they seem to like to drop off to eating every other day.

What substrate do you use with them?
