Today I went to a new spot and did some herping. Very promising area, but nothing really good showed up. However when turning over logs sometimes you flip one over that would have been better left alone. I uncovered a clutch of 5 eggs from a Five-Lined Skink (Eumeces fasciatus). The mother which was gaurding the eggs ran off at the sight of me, so sense I disturbed the eggs I feel as though I should take on the responibility, thus I collected them. When I got home I fixed them in a set up much like the lizards I used to breed but without any extra heat(my house has no air conditioning so its like the outside shade temp all the time). I just wondered if anyone has ever hatched this speices and if they could fill me in on there sucess.
