thanks, nicole. the first reptile i ever bought was a water dragon, but he didn't make it. but that was my bad on the husbandry. i didn't have much of a clue and the petstore didn't help much. anyway, this one should fare better.

yeah I hear ya.
I went through the same thing. They are very delicate creatures. So easy to want to hold and interact with---yet when you do this too much the lizard suffers.
They remain one of my favorites but I haven't the heart to do it again. I try to concentrate on animals with little or no humidity requirements.
Desert species, or species that burrow for moisture, or regulate their own humidity by swimming(like aussie dragons) are more attractive to me as a collector.
There's nothing cuter then a green wd hatchling though.

yeah. i had to get this one. he'd been at the local petstore for a few weeks... and when the have lizards for any length of time they always decline so much healthwise. so i thought i would save this one.
and australian water dragons are HIGH on my want list of lizards... up there with leaftail geckos and chuckwallas.
anyway, i hope lucifer does well. i have the humidity nice for him/her. and when i mist his he drinks some of it, and then shuts his eyes and looks so content, lol.

If you build a big cage for this guy you can get a an aussie drgaon for him to room with (unless you want to breed). If you get one that's the same length and before sexual marurity, the sex won't be much of an issue.
Just something to think about.
