The impression you really need is John Voight trying to sound like Marlon Brando. Then your set. CB, I don't know how much water is actually required to succesfully keep the green anaconda, most people that I know of just provide a pool big enough to completely sumberge. I think much like the water monitor it doesn't have to be able to swim, of course if you have the means to provide it with its own personal swimming pool then go right ahead

Basicly, all it needs is a tub it can get completely submerged in.. perferably a slightly heated one so the water stays lukewarm/warm all the time, cuz they spend a good bit of time in it... Basicly If I were to set the snake up you are getting.. I would keep it like any boa, but with a slightly larger water tub... and it will do fine

A girl in my school says that her dad lives somewhere where there are 45foot anacondas.
They are supposed to eat cows and even humans. I can insure any one reading this that this infomation is completly true. CB, best of luck to you, man. How long do you have to keep this thing anyway? Until it reaches full size or just temporarily? Keeping a conda would be kinda cool if they didn't get so big.
RoyalRazer, sounds like a tall tale to me. I've never heard of any snakes actually getting larger than 33' and that was a retic. Green anacondas are heavier, but they don't get quite as long. People that freak out over snakes, especially something as huge as a green anaconda are going to think the snake is much larger than it really is. I've seen people freak out at the size of 15-20 foot burms and tell people they saw a python that was at least 50-100 feet. Just my 2 cents.

Royal, Bry is right I think some one is messing with you. There are currently big rewards put out by the zoos, Smithsonian institue, etc.. for anyone who can find a wild anaconda that is larger that 33 ft and bring it in a live. Sounds like a good RTB trip to me guys anyone up for it. Although there have been reports there has been no substancial proof that these snakes grow any longer than 33 ft.

Look, I can see you don't believe me but, this girl isn't the type of person who would tell lies. Her dad has measured the anacondas and some are near 40 foot.He hunts them for food so he must know how big they are.
Im going to ask her again just incase shes lying but I doubt it.Her dad lives in some kind of rain forest not in south america.Sounds strange to me too.

RoyalRazor.. you may want to have your friend tell her dad that National Geographic
or the Smithsonian are offering a HUGE reward for any snake found that is over
40 feet.. (none have ever been found, many have been reported, but all were either
exagerations or just never proven)
It is true that a full grown anaconda can eat a cow or person although I highly doubt it
happens very often.. (they have been known to eat caimen/crocs too.. just not often)
Their main diets in the wild are capyburra (large rodents, like a med sized dog).
Retics are known for having eaten people as well (usually small children..even then, not
often) and have been known to eat impallas. (large deer)

i have heard that is no way that a snake even retic or a conda can eat an adult because of the human shoulder structure. i think that this does alot of sense. but i could be wrong.
