>Do Albino Boas happen naturally
well, in a sense yes. Nature created the genes which produce albinos, it was not some
man-made injection or anything.. hee but I think I know what you are saying.
All genetic 'morphs' can just pop up, but the chances of it happened are very very rare.
There are only a very few albinos that were found in the wild.. the chances of just
breeding two wild boas together and getting an albino are.. well.. not very good.
I know
anery is much more common in
BCI (I've heard of them being imported and
found in WC bunches before) but even then, the chances of it just showing up in a litter
are pretty low. I do not know of any albino boas that came from the nicaragua region.
Some snakes are more 'prone' to having these mutations show up, for instance, corn
snakes, you can find
anery a and
anery b in the wild and even albinos in wild populations
sometimes. (although in general albino snakes have a lessened chance of survival in
the wild as they are more likely to be spotted by a predator as compared to their naturally
colored cousins who would better blend in with the habitat.)
