Craigslist Ad..
**Viper boa**
Hmm.. very tempting..
Anyone have more information on these? From what I've read they're rare but not too hard husbandry wise.

Re: Craigslist Ad..
They aren't too difficult to care for, but yes, they are rather aggressive, and most are wild caught.

Re: Craigslist Ad..
I saw this exact same ad, with those exact same pictures, on CL almost 6 months ago.
BEWARE.
I remember those pictures, and that ad. A friend of mine down that way was asking me about it. Seemed legit then, though seeing the ad again just now, with the same info and same pics... fishy fishy fishy.

Re: Craigslist Ad..
That is really weird. O.o
Good thing I decided I didn't really want to add more to the collection.
Creepy.

Re: Craigslist Ad..
Same here. With the declining health of our albino burm I might not be picking up any new snakes for awhile.

Re: Craigslist Ad..
I've had a WC male that I got at a pet shop almost 7 years ago now. Newly imported, they can be a real pain to switch over to rodents. Thankfully he ate a pinkie for me after ignoring everything for the first month. He would reject food every now and again, but I got him to eat f/t mice and rats in about 3 years. He was a few inches under a foot long when I got him and about 18" when I sold him three months ago.
He never calmed down, he would always try to bite me. They like cooler temps as well. I tried keeping him like a typical tropical boid, but he would always hang out on the coldest part of the cage. So I treated him like a corn snake and only gave him a small amount of heat during the winter. He was much more active then, though he'd always stay burried in the cypress mulch. Oh which brings me to the fact that they are semi-aquatic and love high humidity. Also they have a super low metabolism. I'd feed him a fat fuzzy rat or adult mouse once a month or at the most every 3 weeks. He shed for me a total of 5 times in the 7 years I had him.
Just let me know if you need any more info on them. | |
