Hi,
i have been reviewing the care sheets for the Rainbow's and one of the frequent topics is the need for humidty.
My tank's I use for baby snakes are 40 critters and the can dry out really fast so I had to do a little creative thinking on how to heat and keep that humidty,
My new baby has already feed a second time since her arrival. And today she took the food out of my hands as I slid the pinky rat into her hide. wohoo she's gonna be a good feeder.
she was born the 8/15/02
The bottom left tank is her's I put towel over the top of forty's to hold heat
I also duck taped the edges of some rather inexpensive wall insualation and cut it to fit the tank top, the smaller piece has a infared heat pad taped to it I found on big apple, the under side of the tank also has a large cobra mat both are tied into one thermostat thru a power strip this makes it real easy to control the ambients and humidty.I cover the pads with a towel, thehet pad never gets that hot just warm like sunshine, and cycles of with the thermostat very low on the wattage.

The cage stay 80% or greater and takes a couple days to start to have the humidty drop, I change the water wash her water bowel splash a little on the paper and the humidty goes up.

I don't care for that reptile bark , I usally find her under the claydish or the edges of the paper.
she's thriving so far and cleaning is a breeze.
