Curious about everybody's rainbow boas' behavior in this regard, along the lines of the old 'does your brb bite' post. Mine spends 99.95% of her time completely hidden & buried, and she always has.

Yeap, same here. I rarely see mine out of hide, and usually only right after a large meal when it's stretching out to digest. I first thought this might be a sign of something wrong, but then read up and found that they usually display this behavior...so I guess it's normal. Gets a little old hunting for the snake, but I've gotten used to it.

Ours is very active but only at night. She normally comes out of hiding and cruises arounbd her cage about 10pm or so. During the day she hides 100% of the time though.

Hides most of the day. Comes out when the lights are off.

Mine hides most of the time too, but her cage is way too small. Waiting to pay off this boa I just bought (silly credit card company didn't pay for it), after that new cage.

Hides during the daytime, unless I take him out to play. Out and about all night long. He's 2 yrs old.

I have two and they have very different hiding preferences. My female doesn't move around much. She hides all the time. The little male, though, he's out and about when the lights go off, looking for a way out of his cage.
