This is just ridiculous!
I checked on this little guy tonight and found a MUSHROOM growing. I took a pic before I changed out the substrate.
I guess heat, humidity (and the fact that this guy is always in and out of the water bowl) and darkness allows mushrooms to spontaneously pop up out of cypress mulch.
What next!

LOL...
I used to have a piece of driftwood in my watersnake's tank... and then one day it had SEVERAL mushrooms growing out of it! LOL
And I used to have a wood hut for my guinea pig a couple years ago... she drinks so much water it doesn't take long for her to soak the bedding, but between the wall of the plastic cage and the wood hut, there was suddenly a forest of mushrooms growing in there! LOL it was crazy..
