Soloman Island?
I was in the pet shop today picking up a couple frozen rats for my BP, Rex, and saw a small boa that was identified as a Soloman Boa. From what I have seen here they don't get very big. The history on this one is the previous owners probably did not feed regularly and according to the shop owner is a bit undersized but probably at it's full growth. Which I don't know since it was very busy and did not ask to have it taken from the tank. It was vet checked and is healthy. It is very dark so it was difficult to see any pattern to it at all. But . . . being a sucker for the 'undersnake' I'm tempted to give this one a home. Any advice from owners of these guys?

If it was not feeding regularly for the previous owner, it might be because it prefers lizards. These are lizard eaters that need to be switched to accept rodents. Any change in it's environment such as stress from being moved, inadequate temps, humidity, etc. can cause even a consistant rodent feeder to go back to refusing them and wanting lizards.
If you do get it, make sure you see it eat a rodent or be ready to supply it with house geckos and be ready to take care of a snake that is less forgiving than typical boas as far as husbandry goes.

Ive got a Soloman Island Tree boa. She has been a little bit of a challenge. Had some trouble with feeding in the beginning. Tho once i figured out the temps and humidity she became more active.
I had to brain the pinkys her first couple of feedings. Now she eats with no trouble at all
Mine is very sensative. as long as I keep temps and humidity right she seems to thrive. I just moved last weekend. she had a perfect shed 2 days later and has eaten twice since then.

I just lost a Solomon Island Ground Boa...
From what I know they are really picky eaters, especially when they are young. Definitly make sure you watch it eat a rodent first, the pet shop swore ours had eaten them, but he absolutely refused unless he was literally starving, he also had serious injuries to his intestines...
All in all he was the best and most docile snake I've been around.
