Stubborn Little Epicrates Subflavus!!!
I have 5 young (yearling) Jamaican Boas ("Yellow Snakes") looking after and it has been quite a year!
One of them whom I have called Steve (for obvious reasons) has been eating mice for seven months now, and is twice the size of the others, who stubbornly refuse to eat anything but lizards..which is grief for me as I hate to kill reptiles to feed other reptiles! I am constantly trying to get them to start eating the mice too, which they would normally start to do in the bush (as they grow in the "wild" they stop with the lizards and start with the young birds, chickens and mice, rats etc.) but no success and I need some advice if any ideas are out there for me....thanks!

The dirty trick that my wife and I have used in the past to get reptile eaters feeding on rodents is to take a shed skin and fully wrap a moistened, frozen/thawed rodent in it. Offer it to the snake, shed skin and all.

Lizard sheds are often hard to come by since most lizards eat their sheds. I wonder if snake shed would work?

Could be... That's what I was thinking anyway, but I was unable to actually articulate that distinction prior to noon.
I have been quite successful with feeding king snakes using corn snake sheds, but that is a whole different ball of wax.

Thanks to all of you for your quick and interesting responses.
If I use snake shed they may start looking hungrily at each other (the 4 lizard eaters are together in one tank - don't start....). I may try using some of my green iguana shed skin as a deli wrap. The thing of rubbing the mice with the lizards - I will try that, or I could leave the lizards and mice together in a small cramped container overnight to really get a good scent transfer going...!
I will keep you posted on the results when I have them.
