Don't have one, but I have heard that most(not all) of them have bad attitudes.

My experience with BRB (Epicrates C.C.) is limited to one snake. But it's a great one! Mine has an outstanding temperament; he would always be smiling if he could

I just had a breeder pick the most docile snake of the 2 babies I picked for color---and she admitted one had an evil personality and one was a sweetheart so I think it varies.
Also Toker, who is on staff here reported his to be pretty nice as well.
But I admit---80% of the people I spoke with say they ain't friendly

Yeah there is a bit of variance among BRB temperament. BRBs tend to be rather snappy when young, but they usually grow out of it.

I totally agree with that.
I have two, both are awesome and tame but I have never met anyone else that has a tame BRB. I think I got lucky.

Most BRB are kind of nippy when young...but they get less apprehensive when older (with constant handling)...!

If there is any rat or mouse odor in the snakeroom...best to not go near the BRBs here lol. Of all my collection and infinite snake bites...it was a 2 foot brb that get's the trophy for longest chomp and wrap of my finger. He got me right under the fingernail and wrapped and every move I made to unwrap him sent his teeth deeper under my nail...I bled and I screamed...and took me a good 5+ minutes to get him off me. Doesn't sound like long but go jab some needles under your nail and mash them in for 5 minutes
Otherwise they are usually babydolls. I get them out, my son gets them out...everybody plays with the BRBs and noone gets bit but me pretty much any feeding day.

every case is different but my brb has only struck at me once. he was about 3 months old(2 1/2 years now) and i had startled him by waking him up. since then i've never had a problem. my ex-roomate had 2 females that nipped at me after removing them from the deli cups after an overnight delivery, but once you had them out they were fine. only having 2 boas and a beardie it make it pretty easy to spend a lot of time handling. IMO just handling them on a regular basis and feeding in seperate containers is the best thing you can do to prevent aggresive behavior. i highly recommend brbs. when you get them in that sunlight there's hardly a snake that compares to their beauty. good luck.

Nicole was right, mine is very sweet, she is always looking around, but has not even tried to strike me.
Perhaps I got lucky

They aren't angry little amazon tree boa like nippy snakes...but they take absolutly NO nonsense. They don't even seem especially defensive but Any probing, medicating, antagonizing...will more often than not provoke a strike.
