I have a 12' female yellow anaconda who has not eaten since I got her about 6 months ago. She has lost absolutely no weight. any thoughts?

Seriously, if it isn't deteriorating then maybe she is doing what she knows to be best.
Could she be gravid? Or no?
Have you given her food in the swimming pool yet?
Annies do EVERYTHING in the water and it may help to feed her in a tub or bath full of water.

Julius probed her. He didnt say she felt gravid. How long is the gestation? Gravid would be nice, but unlikely I think.

Although she is the larger of the 2 snakes in her cage, she could still be stressed by the other anaconda female housed with her. Especially since she is a bit snappy. Anxiety could be a factor. She likely needs to be left in the dark and alone overnight with a good sized Rabbit. Leaving a rabbit overnight in a pool would be kind of disgusting....but who knows? If ya want...I can come over and help assist feed her. Shouldn't be too much trouble since she isn't shy about opening her mouth. I think if we held a rabbit's head in there for awhile she would eventually swallow it. Another thing we could do is to give her a shot of Vitamin B12 for an appetite stimulant. I have plenty. Just let me know if ya want any help.
