I posted a few weeks ago about 3 full grown BRB's that I just purchased. Two of them are doing great, but we are having some trouble getting the 3rd younger female to feed. I am still working on that one. But my main question is what do you guys breed and keep your BRB's in. I am finding it hard to keep the humitiy up in their cages. What kind of cages to do you use? These are some of the best BRB's that I have seen. I will have to get some new pics up so you guys can take a look. If you have any websites with good info on these guys that would be great too. Thanks so much, you guys are always the best for providing help.

Well, I haven't ventured into breeding as my brb is quite young. For humidity I had tried everything. I was posting on here almost daily trying to figure out what I should do or was doing wrong. Finally I changed the substrate to aspen, and put a plastic bowl full of water right over the heat pad, and let the substrate fall around the neck of the bowl. The heat pad heats the water in the bowl to the point where it causes humidity. I always have water on the sides of my tank now. I also put some spaghnum moss in the hide boxes on hot and cold side, and spray them down regularly. Hope one of these might help ya. Keep us posted.

These are some very good ideas. I need to get a bigger cage for these guys so they can have a big bowl of water to be in. The problem is finding a cage that can keep the humidity up. Thanks for responding.

All the stuff coferj is good!
here's how i have my BRB's tank's setup
For my male he's in a 29 gallon (nope he isnt a adult yet, only a yearling)
i use Forest floor as a substrate.. its always moist.. i have the water bowl over the heat pad
i keep moist spagnum moss in the hides AND outside all over the cage too lol
I have some vines for climbing,a spot light w/ 60 watt bulb..
i mist the cage 2-3 times a day...
the water bowl i use is ceramic.. so it heats up better then plastic.
once the cage is heated up you can litteraly see the humidity leaving the water bowl..
pretty neet stuff!
and my female is setup about the same way just in a 10 gallon

Oh, forgot to say what I had it in. I've got mine in a 55 gal long. I tried the ceramic bowl, but it just didn't do the trick, and the plastic holds more water. I dont' have a screen top, just an aquarium style double top, with the flourescent lights on top of them.

Boaguy, do your brbs actually take advantage of the vines and climb around? I have a branch for climbing but i never see mine climbing over it. She seems to prefer burrowing in her substrate.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your input. I am currently in the process of finishing my basement and setting up my own room just for my snakes. It is going to look great when done. Everything you have told me will help me set it up just right for my BRB's. My other snakes are easier to take care of but I think these 3 will be the most fun. Thanks guys!!!

Let me know the temperament of yours as you go. I have found that mine gets more and more nippy as we go along. Granted, he's shedding again (second time in a month), but he's always pissy. Kinda takes the fun out of having him...lol

Mine are about 4 years old and have never tried to bite me. The big female does hiss every now and then but she has never struck. They are so big I hope they never do decide to strike. The male does seem to have a better attitude out of my 3.

Well, I'm hoping that with enough handling he will tame down like my BCI, but only time will tell. If he doesn't it's going to be painful to feed him when he gets larger.
