I've been offered some yellow anaconda babies - have been considering taking them on. Thing is, I've heard multitudinous reports on their degrees of nastiness or otherwise (mostly the former).
I'd love to hear from yellow anaconda owners about temperament (of your snakes, that is) and so forth. I would also be interested in hearing advice on whether I CAN keep them with other species (Boas, Burmese, ARPs, Royals - though not for long!) Is the decider here purely size? Could I keep a three-foot YA with a 3' ball, and then shift it in with my Boid when they're both around 6'?
Thanks!

I wouldn't suggest putting them in together. I don't know much about Anacondas, but housing herps together can cause health problems. if one snake gets sick, they both get sick. not much I can soy other than that, I'm not sure if their temperments would mesh well or not. -Juggalo

I think retics and anacondas hold the record for killing 'cagemates' the most...
.... When I think of anacondas I think of green not yellow, so Im not sure if a yellow is anything like a green.. But, if I was housing a retic or an anaconda, they would be alone, in there own cage....no exception. Im not really down with mixing species either...so I wouldnt suggest it..
Get 5 pieces of wood... make an open faced box... put a door on it... much easier than burying your snake right?

Thanks for the advice. I do have a collection of 'display' cages affixed to the walls of my lounge at easy viewing height - but there's only room for so many before the new snakes have to go in my outside snake room. Thing is, the outside room has facilities for a drainable pool etc, and I'd really like to put a big snake or two there with bathing and basking spots etc. I guess I'll just have to go with two yellows. Out here they can be got for around R200 each - around $20 because there's not much of a market for them. Reputation, you know.
Anyway - thanks again.
