Here is a recent pic of me guys. I thought I'd put one up since its been like 2 yrs since my last one! This is me playing at a recent bar gig. The bass I'm using in the pic isn't actually my own, but a friend's Alembic Epic. For all you bass aficianados, I own and normally use a Zon Legacy 6 and a Lakland 55-01. Playing bass is my first love, and probably the only one I have (besides my kids of course), that surpasses herps.

Yes..that particular bass (The Alembic Epic) is a 34" scale (long) 6 string. My own basses are
the Zon Legacy (34 inch scale 6 string) and a Lakland 55-01 (35 inch scale 5 string)
I have big hands so I am uncomfortable on shorter scale basses.

A Trace Elliot SMX 12 band, 300 watt, 4-10's for smaller jobs, and 4-10s plus 1-15 for bigger places.

mmm Trace Elliot some of the finest gear to be had.
and the most $$$ next to mesa.
But for bass, I dont think I would choose mesa, although I have a full mesa rig for guitar and I wouldnt trade it for anything.

The Mesa stuff is fine gear. A few months ago, I got the chance to play through a Mesa Walkabout with a Bergantino 2-12 bottom, and it just sounded KILLER. The Trace stuff is expensive new, but I bought mine used and got a great deal. I got Trace stuff, for a Peavey price. If I had my choice, I'd probably go with Aguilar and Bergantino gear, but I haven't won the lottery yet!

If I had my choice, I'd have a sweeeeet Yamaha RBX-170 4-string with a niiice 10 watt Ibanez amp with a 2 foot cord and no strap. Now THAT'S a sweet setup.

LOL Chris. I think I'd prefer a Squire Affinity P played through a 15 watt Rogue!

Hey Frag, we need some more scientific knowledge... I haven't been keeping up with the natural history of the Bass family complex...
