Hi, it's Hannah again (I post in other forums) and I was wondering if it's true that Savannah monitors are the best for beginners and also some specific tips on their care. I know that they like very hot basking spots, are entirely carnivirous, and will 'shake' their 'prey' when eating. Do they ever bite unprovoked when they have been well-handled? Can the bites, like the bites of a Komodo dragon, cause infections or diseases?

Hannah

savannah's are great for beginners. they will bite if you r putting food in the cage and they think your hand is food. ask my oldest daughter about that!!!!! that is why we feed them in a big rubbermaid
