Monitor and captive reproduction!
I have heard that there has only been like 2-3 recorded reprodution of monitors in captivity. Is this true or is there more done but just not recorded? What is the average belive in that? Some say they are impossible to make to reproduce and yet I have heard others claim their savannahs has... Please fill me in!

Re: Monitor and captive reproduction!
I have bred monitors more times than that with out even trying to breed them. They are easy to breed if you have a pair and your husbandry is good. There are some people that get many clutches from different types of monitors each year.

Re: Monitor and captive reproduction!
I am talking about the Savannah Monitor, I saw one page stating that they had only been successfully bred twice that was recorded. Not sure if its true or what not.

Re: Monitor and captive reproduction!
Ah, Savanna monitors.
There have been a few clutched bred. I have heard of 2 or 3 this year. Most people that are capable of breeding monitors don't bother breeding savannas.

Re: Monitor and captive reproduction!
Yeah I have understood that it don't pay off. I would just like to know more about it etc. Cause honestly after research and I see how they keep catching the wild ones captive born etc. I feel that next time if this one don't survive or I want a second one that I rather pay more and have a captive breed one. I would rather pay 200 and have a clean consience and very likely also a more healthier one if that makes any sence?
