fly problem
first good news, after letting Sai get used to his new home, he is much more mellow and does not hiss or flatten out when i touch him.
Bad news, Sai tends to bury the occasional rodent in lieu of eating it, and the rotting carcasses have attracted flies. (lesson learned, removed said rodents and i am taking steps to keep soil cleaner) I have metal screen on the tank, and the holes are small enough that the vast majority of the flies do not leave the tank. so now i have the tank peppered with house flies. I am looking for a solution to these pests that i can put in Sai's tank safely, but i have been so far unsuccessful. I would prefer to be able to build it myself with common items so i can get it in there ASAP instead of having to wait to be paid.
any suggestions would be appreciated with extreme gratitude

Re: fly problem
Let them out into your house and set up sticky fly traps. In your house the traps won't get stuck to your monitor, leaving the flies in the cage will limit how you can get rid of them.

Re: fly problem
Nothing in the cage would be safe and a carnivorous plant would get destroyed.
