Salvator Doing Great! (Pic)
Wow...this guy is doing great. I still have yet to handle him to eliminate any possiblity of stress while acclimating. So far I've had him for barely over a day and he's polished off over 3 dozen crickets, some mealworms, and two pinkies to fatten him up a bit.
What do you guys think of him? He's ACTIVE as all heck. I don't think he's stopped roaming the cage and digging around except for last night, but as soon as those lights clicked on he was up and goin'.
Let me know what ya think!

Re: Salvator Doing Great! (Pic)
I would start feeding it larger crickets, roaches, superworms, hornworms, even the occasional pinky. Water monitors have a much better tolerance for mammalian prey than a sav or an ackie.
Water monitors are very active and can be lightning fast so be careful and good luck. There are some bite wounds I had from mine on this site, you may want to take a look at them.

Re: Salvator Doing Great! (Pic)
It is good that it is eating good for you. I bet if you had deep dirt and some leaf litter on top, it would live it.
Keep us posted on it's progress. Looks good.

The crickets I first had for him were large. The only ones they had today weren't as large unfortunately. I'm going to the local reptile show this weekend so I'll be bringing back alot of bugs

I'm going to put him a soil/sand mixture eventually. For now the cypress is the simplest and I didn't want to be mixin' around in there during his first week. I have a small skinny half log thing that I have angled down towards the bottom of the cage that is partially covered and he's already done his work and burrowed down into that
