Re: fuzzy mice and reptile cal whats the right amount?

I'm not an expert but I don't really think that it would matter either way. If you're dusting all his crickets I don't *personally* think that you need to dust the mouse. It has other nutrients to offer such as iron and protein. But I might be completely wrong. Let's see what Raze or DRZrider has to say.

Re: fuzzy mice and reptile cal whats the right amount?

I dusted every time. monitors need a good amount of calcium and it won't be long until you blackthroat is eating adult mice, and chics.

"Don’t forget the minimum requirements for carnivorous reptiles
Crude Protein 30-50%
Fat 10-15%
Calcium 0.8-1%
Phosphorus 0.5-0.9%
Vitamin D 500-1000 IU/kg
Vitamin E 100 IU/kg"
That was courtesy of Jody Pieper.

Re: fuzzy mice and reptile cal whats the right amount?

I don't dust rodents especially if they have hair. I dust crickets for the monitors but not for every feeding. It won't be long before you are buying adult mice then rats for it so you won't have to worry about dusting.

Re: fuzzy mice and reptile cal whats the right amount?

What kind of roaches are you getting? Before you start feeding a lot of them you need to let the colony build up
